Transitioning from grades to situational reporting

Research indicates that grades damage students’ learning ability, yet this remains the way schools communicate learning to parents. Aurora City describes why grades have become ingrained in schools, suggests what is needed for change and introduces a gradeless reporting system called Gather. This system, which uses situational reporting, is being piloted in its K-five schools.
