Transitioning from grades to situational reporting

Research indicates that grades damage students’ learning ability, yet they remain the way schools communicate learning to parents. Aurora City describes why grades have become ingrained in schools, suggests what is needed for change and introduces a gradeless reporting system called "Gather," being piloted in its K-five schools which uses situational reporting.
