OSBA Black Caucus Breakfast and meeting
Monday, Nov. 12, 8:30 a.m.; meeting begins at 10 a.m.
This free breakfast is an opportunity to network with fellow board members and discuss issues impacting African-American students and board members. Open to all attendees. Sponsored by OSBA Insurance Agency LLC. The meeting and following presentation will begin at 10 a.m.

The meeting of the minds — working to make education work for striving students
Discuss the issues impacting minority students, such as poverty, achievement gaps, college and work readiness, home life, equity and discipline. Maple Heights City and Sandusky City explain their efforts to help students overcome these and other issues. A meeting of the OSBA Black Caucus will take place after the presentation. Learn how the caucus supports initiatives enhancing the academic achievement of ethnically diverse students, such as the Leo Lucas Scholarship.

Cedric Jennings heads a Washington, D.C., social service agency and overcame the challenges of inner-city life to earn several Ivy League degrees.
