Accessibility

OSBA is committed to providing an outstanding experience for all participants. We strive for full access to the activities of these events based on an awareness of participants’ needs and appropriate planning.

We ask that requests for reasonable accommodations be made as early as possible, and well in advance of the event via the registration process. On-site requests will be accommodated to the best of our ability; however, available resources may be limited.

The Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC) ensures that it follows the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). More information about the GCCC’s accessibility steps is available on the GCCC website

Food restrictions and allergies
We work with the convention center caterer to ensure that OSBA events offer vegetarian and gluten-free food options. If you have food restrictions or allergies to food items, please include that information on your registration form for any dinners and lunches.

Family care lounge – nursing mothers’ room
The Greater Columbus Convention Center has a designated nursing mothers’ room located in the GCCC connector, near the escalator to Battelle Grand (North).

Mobility and scooter rentals
If you have a mobility impairment, wheelchairs are available at GCCC Public Safety. Contact Public Safety at (614) 827-2457.

You also can rent a motorized scooter for use in the convention center and connecting hotels by contacting GCCC Guest Services at (614) 827-2531 to book. Please note that advanced reservations are encouraged for scooters and/or wheelchairs.

Advanced Medical Supply also rents motorized scooters. Arrangements for these rentals should be made in advance of the conference. Contact Advanced Medical Supply at (614) 870-0111.

Transportation
Shuttles with a lift can be arranged for transport between any official OSBA hotel and the convention center for door-to-door service for attendees with mobility devices. A phone number to call for scheduling will be posted on transportation signage and in the event app.

Wheelchair-accessible seating
Areas are set aside in the Union Station Ballroom to accommodate wheelchairs and scooters. Please see a General Session usher for the location.

Other
If you require other reasonable accommodations that are not already being provided or listed above, please email OSBA’s Scott Clay at least one week prior to the conference at sclay@ohioschoolboards.org.
